Covered Bridges

It's a beautiful day in northwestern Ohio. Today Gene and I drove over to Jefferson, OH. This is the county seat of Ashtabula County. We love picturesque towns and this one did not disappoint us.

We had a delicious lunch at "The Deli in the Rye" located at 35 S. Chestnut St. Their potato salad, slaw, pies, etc. are all made from scratch and you can really tell the difference.

We walked around the square taking pictures of the old courthouse and some other interesting looking buildings and a gazebo. Gene will be loading these pictures into his Picasa web page.

We then traveled down some rural two lane highways to see covered bridges. One of the advantages of a Roadtrek is that we can drive it down lovely country roads. There are 17 covered bridges in Ashtabula County dating back to the 1850's. We only had time to see 3 before we needed to head back.

We will strike out tomorrow to New York. I probably won't have WiFi for a couple days, so you'll hear from me again as soon as I'm connected

Welcome to Our Blog

We are traveling around the country in our 2003 Roadtrek Popular 190. On this particular trip we have traveled from Florida to Canada to Missouri and north again in a three month time period.

We are "extended" RV ers. We have a home in Florida, but love to tour the highways and byways of the United States.

Family and friends can now join us on our adventures as we travel to new areas and see new sights.
